PARLIAMENTARY RECEPTION –

Troon Coastal Rowing attended for South Ayrshire Council, to represent the many activities that they have available. We are obviously a pretty colourful show and it was good to do something like this for the Council who are very supportive of the Club. The guests at the showcase were MSPs and invited key players from around Scotland’s Councils and organisations.

IRVINE COASTAL ROWING CLUB
On 5 July 2014 a team of rowers from Troon Coastal Rowing rowed from Troon Marina to Irvine Harbour to attend the Skiff launch of Irvine Coastal Rowing Club. The Skiff named “The Vennal” was built by a team of young boat building apprentices from Irvine Maritime Museum. A large crowd attended the launch.

REGATTA AT ULLAPOOL
Club Chairman, Harry Risk, with skiff and a big team of members and supporters are at present attending the Loch Broom Regatta at Ullapool. The team are away from 10 – 14 July.

DALRIADA, CO. ANTRIM
There will be no rowing session on Saturday 19 July as one of the Skiffs will be competing in Dalriada, Co.Antrim.

RNLI GALA DAY, TROON
The RNLI Gala Day takes place at the Lifeboat Station on Saturday 19 July. Weather dependent the other skiff will be available offering the public short outings. This will be in co-operation with the lifeboat staff on duty beside us on their pontoon.

School Summer Holiday Programme
The dates for this important Club activity are:

Wednesdays: 16, 23, 30 July and 6 August

Hourly sessions starting 10.00: 11.00: 13.00: 14.00 hours each day

TROON SPORTS HUB ACTIVITY DAY – SOUTH BEACH 26 JULY – ALL DAY
As it is probable that both skiffs will be in use all day, the Club will function exclusively on South Beach – No rowing at Marina.

ROWING PROGRAMMES – CLUB DAYS
The number of these weekly sessions has evolved as the Club has developed over its first few years. The basic pattern is now (Summer 2014) –

BRITISH SUMMER TIME: 5 SESSIONS

CLUB DAYS: Saturday and Sunday morning 10.00am – 12.30pm
Sunday afternoon 2.00pm – 4.30pm
Wednesday morning 10.00am – 12.30pm
Wednesday evenings 5.30pm – 8.00pm

GREENWICH MEAN TIME: 4 SESSIONS

CLUB DAYS: Saturday and Sunday morning 10.00am – 12.30pm
Sunday afternoon 2.00pm – 4.30pm
Wednesday morning 10.00am – 12.30pm

ALL CLUB DAYS ARE SUBJECT TO THE PEVAILING WEATHER, ESPECIALLY WIND AND SEA CONDITIONS.

TRAINING PROGRAMME SESSIONS

Early notice that the Club Committee wishes to dedicate the following Rowing session to the Training Programme

Saturdays 16, 23 and 30 August – as long as required, into p.m.

Saturday/Sunday 13/14 September from 9.30am – if needed.

FORTHCOMING EVENTS

TCRC FASHION SHOW – WEDNESDAY 8 OCTOBER 2014

M & CO. Church Street, Troon – Tickets £4.00p including refreshments

In co-operation with the clothing store M & Co. the Club will be holding this fundraising event in the Autumn, within the Company’s store in Church Street, Troon. The Company will supply the fashions and the Club will be supplying the models. There will be a raffle and refreshments will be served. Event organiser, Jan Tucker, expects this to be a popular and enjoyable evening and has already experienced great support and enthusiasm from this commercial company. Tickets will go on sale soon and members are encouraged to bring friends and family with them on the evening.
