Unfortunately the annual Regatta scheduled for 6 June had to be cancelled due to inclement weather.
Following the cancellation, a lot of hard work took place and a re-vamped event was organised for Saturday 13th.
A large contingent of skiffs and crews from the East Coast, who had other commitments, were unable to attend.
With the improved weather we were able to hold our 3rd annual Regatta as we had entries from Girvan, Carrick (Maidens), Irvine, Firth of Clyde (Fairlie) and Royal West (Greenock) as well as Troon’s own two skiffs – Marr Voyager and Ailsa Lass. A full day’s racing took place and was enjoyed by all with Carrick coming out the overall winner and receiving our new trophy which was presented by our Chairman, Harry Risk.
TROON WATER SPORTS CENTRE
Troon Coastal Rowing are pushing ahead on an exciting project to be the prime movers and leaders in this new development as titled above.
What we really need now are lots of interested folk who do other things on the water – sail, canoe, surf and so on. As this initiative gathers speed, progress will be reported.
