Coming to the close of a busy year it is once again time to give our magnificent skiffs “ Ailsa Lass “ and “ Marr Voyager†a much deserved makeover.
Both boats have been well used in our all year round rowing programme,up to seven club sessions per week and attending some great regattas and rowing events.
Beach landings and the odd bump into pontoons take their toll,so it will soon be time to get the sanders and brushes out.
This is therefore an appeal for volunteers to come forward and assist , it is hoped we can do both in November at two weeks per skiff.
We are looking for as many as possible, giving what time they can give ,no experience necessary, just bring enthusiasm and as many power sanders as hands can be laid upon.
The refurb will take place at the Maritime Museum workshop in Irvine.
Interspersed with painting/sanding there is usually a good dollop of banter and coffee breaks at the Puffer Cafe.
Names in advance will make planning for boat team easier but turning up is also fine.
Non members keen to assist welcome.
Start date November 2 nd
