Taking part with other clubs from the SW region they came fourth on the day.Thanks to Renegade for supplying their skiff to the SW region.
Our two skiffs took part in the Dumbarton Castle to Finneston Crane race (13miles),to celebrate The Clyde Built Festival along with 75 other rowing craft of which 61 were St Ayles skiffs.Ailsa Lass was entered in the Mens 50+category and came in 3rd place in a time of 1.58.03. Marr Voyager was entered into the Mixed 50+ 
category
and came in 3rd place in a time of 2.12.49.Ailsa Lass was 4th overall and Marr Voyager was 9th.
Along with Carrick Coastal Rowing Club we attended this social event in Dunure.The two skiffs offered “Give it a Go”sessions to any of the public who wished to try rowing.The weather on the day was spectacular and the entertainment,food and drink was great.Music by Mid Life Blues Band in the Dunure Inn was exceptional.
Along with thirteen other clubs we took part in this regatta which was over a 2km course.Troon finished seventh overall and in the Mens Open we finished a close fourth only being beaten by Dundrum (current World Champions),North Berwick (overall regatta winners) and Killyliegh from Ireland.The 2019 World Championships will be held in Stranraer over this course and this was a great test of the facilities available.
Our club took part in an event organised by Cumbrae Coastal Rowing Club.This was a row from Millport over to The Wee Cumbrae and then across to Portencross.On the return a picnic was supplied by the club.The weather was ideal for the row and everyone who took part enjoyed this fairly long row.

A great day was had by our club and the 11 other skiffs taking part.Our Open Men and Over 50s men took first place in their heats and a great third place in both their finals.Troon was also third in the Duncan Winning challenge(a 3km row over to Cumbrae.Prestwick skiff won this race with our member Mike Downey in stroke position.Our club ended 7th out of 12 skiffs in the overall plac

Both skiffs set off for a sunset row round Lady Isle in perfect summer conditions.The photographs were taken by Kathleen,Moira and Adrian.Time out against a 10mph breeze took 55 mins with the return completed in 30 mins.This was a first for our club and further trips are planned.
On Friday evening a group of our team members met in The Pierhead Tavern for a meal and drinks.
After a soggy start on Saturday the weather improved and our team had two firsts and a third place in individual races and came 5th overall out of 11 teams. Arran were the overall regatta winners.Arran club supplied soup,rolls and salad with tea and coffee.On Saturday night a barbeque was arranged along with wine,beer and a DJ.
On Sunday 6 teams took part in the Hamilton Rock challenge which was a demanding 6.2 Km row from Lamlash pier round the rock and back into a stiff wind.FOCCRS won this inaugural challenge. Troon came 6th with two rowers from FOCCRS making up our team.
