Our first skiff has had a refurbishment carried over the winter months and returned to service on the 17th March 2019.New footplates were designed and fitted in preparation for the Skiffie Worlds in July this year.
With the University of The West of Scotland considering introducing Water Sports on the River Ayr our club was invited to take part in a trial row.Apart from a muddy launch the row was a success. While taking part we were informed we were the first wooden boat on the River for fifty years.
Training team rowed out and back to Lady Isle and the PM team rowed to L
appock Rock and back. This was the first two long rows of the year in perfect weather conditions.
Around twenty members met at the Yacht Haven slipway to celebrate the New Year as we have been doing since the club was formed. Both skiffs were launched in a breezy NW wind and after wards all enjoyed mulled wine, coffee, sausages, mince pies, cake and biscuits.

Our club carried out a fund raising day at Morissons in Troon by bag packing for their customers at the check outs. We raised a total of £950.79 and wish to thank Amy and her staff at Troon allowing us to make this wonderful amount and the generosity of all the shoppers who contributed. Also thanks to all the club members who gave up their time to assist.
The club has been awarded two separate charitable awards amounting to £2000.This will cover the cost of the Wemyss skiff currently being built and a cover and launching trolley.
Taking part with other clubs from the SW region they came fourth on the day. Thanks to Renegade for supplying their skiff to the SW region.
